Will I be able to get a refund?

Refunds will only be offered in the event that GYC Europe has to cancel the conference due to the Covid situation in Austria alone. However, the refund will only be 96% as the payment processing charges are non-refundable.


Unfortunately, GYC Europe is not able to account for the Covid situation in individual countries due to the complexity and dynamic nature of the pandemic. We therefore strongly advise you to only book to attend in person if you are reasonably certain that the Covid situation in your country will allow you to travel.


If you cannot attend, we can change the name on the ticket so that you can give or sell the ticket to someone else. If you are travelling by plane, we strongly advise you to book a direct flight to Austria, if possible, to minimise the potential disruption that may be caused by Covid in different countries.

When will the conference be taking place?

This year’s GYC Europe conference will take place from the 12th to the 15th of August 2021.

How do I get to Bogenhofen?

You can either fly in to Munich, Vienna or Salzburg. From there trains go to Hagenau (if you can’t get to Hagenau, try to Braunau/Inn and let us know so we can pick you up). Leaving the tiny train station Hagenau, go to the right, follow the main road across another bigger road approximately 400m. The campus will be to your right hand. Go to the parking place where on the opposite side is the big church building. Registration will be there.

What services are available for special needs and requests?

We are happy to make it possible for anybody to participate in our convention. Please contact logistics@gyceurope.org no later than August 01, 2021 for special needs. If you have dietary preferences, please be sure to mark those on the space provided on the registration form when you register. The kitchen team at Bogenhofen regularly cooks vegan, vegetarian and for students with allergies.

Will the virtual conference take place at the same time as the conference dates?

Yes, it will take place from August 12th-15th, 2021.

I need a letter of invitation in order to get a visa to travel to Austria. Can you help?

What steps will GYC Europe take to limit the risk of transmission of the coronavirus at the conference?

GYC Europe is committed to taking reasonable steps, as required by the Austrian officials, to minimise the risk of a Covid outbreak at the in-person conference. We will be guided by the regulations outlined by the Austrian government. This may include:

  • Requiring everyone to wear face masks at all, or some, of the time during the conference.

  • Observing social distancing between attendee groups during the services, workshops and meals.

  • Providing sufficient supplies of hand sanitizers across the venue for the duration of the conference.

Please note that you may also be required to present a negative Covid-19 test in order to enter Austria.
